Good Stewardship
You spent decades building the business and we are committed to protecting it. We will partner with your people and work in the business from day one the same way you did.
You spent decades building the business and we are committed to protecting it. We will partner with your people and work in the business from day one the same way you did.
You’d like to step back, but the business still depends on you. We’ll take the day-to-day blocking and tackling off your plate at a pace that feels right so you can begin to transition to your next chapter.
One size doesn’t fit all. We’re committed to designing a deal around your goals, whether that means cash at close, payments spread over time, or a stake in what comes next.
We’re funded by a family that owned & operated one great business over generations. We believe that this level of focus and patience is the surest path to compounding value over the long run.
We start by understanding your goals for your business, people, and self
A short data request and a site visit, so we can begin to see how your business runs
A clear price and structure provided in a written letter of intent built around your goals
Focused business diligence and operational alignment that respects your time
We sign and fund as agreed with committed capital, so nothing waits on the bank
Offload the day-to-day operations to a good steward who’s in it for the long term
We are field operators
We plan with intention
We lead with people
We act with conviction
We put in the work
Ollie Durling Founder
Ollie founded the Mill in 2025 with the belief that traditional private equity investors often overlook the enormous investment opportunities associated with proven small & midsize businesses that have the potential to grow.
Our name reflects our values that are more Main Street than Wall Street. Mill is the road where Ollie grew up and where his family owned & operated one great business over generations. Stewardship reflects our commitment to exercising responsible care over the business entrusted to us. Our intent is not to rebuild, but to preserve what works while providing operational support and patient capital to help the business achieve its next phase of growth.
Prior to the Mill, Ollie worked on the ground floor of his family’s convenience store business and held operating roles at Walmart and a retail technology startup. As an operator, Ollie understands that preserving culture will reap rewards over the long term.
Ollie will marry his fiancée, Elizabeth, in 2027. Together, they enjoy the energy of New York City, where they live and work.
Thank you for your interest in the Mill! Looking for more information? Please let us know and we’ll be in touch.
